Courage is not just for superheroes — it lives inside every one of us!
Courage is not just for superheroes — it lives inside every one of us!
Have you ever felt nervous before speaking in class, trying something new, or saying sorry after a mistake? That feeling is normal, and choosing to act even when you are scared is exactly what courage means. Courage is the strength to do the right thing even when it feels difficult or frightening. It is one of the most important qualities a person can have.
Courage comes in many shapes and sizes. A firefighter running into a burning building shows physical courage. But courage can also be quiet and everyday. Standing up for a friend who is being bullied, admitting you were wrong, or trying a hard math problem again after failing — these are all acts of courage too.
Courage is closely linked to other good values like honesty, kindness, and resilience. When you have the courage to be honest, you build trust with the people around you. When you have the courage to be kind even when others are not watching, you become a better person.
The good news is that courage can be practised and grown, just like a muscle. Each time you try something that scares you a little, your courage grows stronger. Start small — raise your hand in class, introduce yourself to someone new, or try again after a mistake. Remember, being brave does not mean you are never afraid. It means you do not let fear stop you from doing what matters.
